Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, West Indian Girl may be named after an infamous strain of LSD but their music doesn’t require such consumption. Whether one’s mind is enhanced by such chemicals, West Indian Girl deliver when it comes to their celestial brand of dream-pop. If you’re a hookah enthusiast, their music may serve quite well as a soundtrack. Recently, the band made headlines not for its music, but for the departure of and marriage of singer, Mariqueen Maandig to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The band was sent scrambling to find a replacement, as they were in the midst of touring. They recently checked in with B-Sides to give us the scoop on finding their new female vocalist and how they create music as a band.
