Up Next: Audrye Sessions

audryesessions1Audrye Sessions is a band who’s been on our radar for years now, and it’s amazingly rewarding to see them continue to grow and add to their already loyal fanbase.  BTW, just because the band got its name from a CD burner commercial doesn’t mean their music is sugary pop commercialism.  It just so happened that the commercial was on when lead singer, Ryan Karazija was booking a gig when the venue needed to know the name of the band, which was unnamed at the time.

Founded in 2002 by Karazija and Alicia Marie Campbell, Michael Knox joined the band through a craigslist ad and they began the journey of playing from coffeehouses in their hometown of Livermore, California to numerous shows in nearby San Francisco.  Partaking in many a local band show with local alternative radio station, Live 105, Audrye Sessions has built up a great reputation as a band to see live, especially after playing gigs at San Francisco’s Noise Pop and Austin’s SXSW music festivals.

Record labels took notice without much prodding and in 2008, Audrye Sessions released their self-titled EP in October 2008 through Black Seal, a unit of Sony BMG.  The full-length album was released February 17, 2009.
