Motion City Soundtrack’s fourth full-length, My Dinosaur Life was produced by Mark Hoppus, and quite impressive. This author has followed the band since their first album I am the Movie and have seen nothing but growth from the band. The second album Commit this to Memory was when Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus saw talent in the band and hopped on as producer. This electro pop-punk band brings a new full sound to this album, and really bring synth’s out this time. A few of my favorite tracks are Track 8 “Pulp Fiction”, which stood out because first off, I LOVE me a Royale with Cheese, but the swing pop to this song hardly kept me standing still. I love to see this band coming together as a whole, and I must say the Mark Hoppus influence really seems to come out in this album, especially in “The Weakends” , this is a Blink type song, with upswing choruses, and dark lyrics about overcoming and not taking S*^t from things that you cant see coming. Motion City Sountrack’s fourth album is definitely an improvement on all fronts, they have moved up from preteen pop punk to electro punk that I can see people my age seeing live. Good Job guys, looking forward to seeing the concert.
