Wes from Ra Ra Riot revealed to “B-Sides” a while ago that there would be a collaboration with his buds from Vampire Weekend.  Boy, was he not kidding.  Vampire Weekend keyboardist/producer Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot singer Wes Miles will be known as Discovery, and release the self-titled debut LP on July 7 via XL.  From what we’ve heard on their myspace, it will definitely be a part of many “How I Spent The Summer of 09″ youtube videos and soundtrack to many a party night.

Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend and Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian will be heard singing on a few tracks including a cover of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” (!), a space-pop remix of Ra Ra Riot’s “Can You Tell” (re-dubbed “Can You Discover?”), and a song called “So Insane”.  The American spirit will be alive days after Independence Day thanks to Discovery.  Thanks, Santa!
